Special Sneak-Peek,
Initial Work on a SubDriver for the Moebius 39" SEAVIEW kit
A Report to the Cabal:
Just a few pretty
pictures to show off last nights and this morning work to build up a prototype
Moebius SEAVIEW SubDriver. This particular unit will permit conversion of that
static display kit into a practical r/c submarine. Most of the SubDriver is
derived from engineering and tooling developed for the KILO SubDriver unit recently
discussed. The major work here was creation of a new motor bulkhead master (to
accommodate the two motors) and a lengthened cylinder (final length TBD) to
produce the massive researve buoyancy needed to get this submarine as high off
the surface as possible when in surface trim (the SEAVIEW had a ridiculously
high freeboard -- made for good surface running shots, but is entirely
impractical).
Anyway ... here are the
pretty pictures. Feel free to pass them around.
