CommentsLove the pictures. Some of the links still go to your old site, but scanning the images directory I found them. Also, I am interested in your products (what's available, cost, etc). Can't really find much. I found you from the R/C Boat Modeler article. Cool stuff. Looks like fun.

CommentsDave, Nice site. We'll have to do dinner sometime. Dana Potts
CommentsWant to make the site better?, Add your catalogue for download so people down in the south pacific (like me -Hint Hint) or where ever can view your products for sale. Then the worlds your Oyster. Being new to the R/C Sub hobby there is a wealth of wealth of info, products etc in the US but not down here in New Zealand. No credit card facilities makes life tough though. Nice site! will be checking on its development! Cheers Brett Todd bat@thepentagon.com
CommentsHi Dave. Welcome back. Miss you, Ellie and the Regatta this year. Will be there next year. New site is very good. Think about this. Would you make more money selling catalogues or by posting the entire contents on the Web?. I personally would rather review what is \ available on the Web. Any way, take care, pay no attention to the loud and few and enjoy your family. Sincerely, Art Meyer

CommentsStill interested, In '74 I scratch built the old Nautilus. All I had to go on was an above the waterline picture to model after. It still turned pretty nice; but not at all looking like the Disney sub below the waterline.
CommentsGreat site. I believe that I have met you at Mt. Trashmore. Would like to do a sub, but still researching. Hope to see you at the pond.
CommentsThankyou very much for I been trying to get my rcsub work again. I have got thru most of your article and it's very helpfull. But I can't understand some terms. For intance , what is positive and negative trim in submarine. I do know this term in rc Helicopter which I am flying. Just to make sure if it means the same....Positive pitch for up and negative pitch for down? Is that so? please somebody please answer this, it pretty confusing. and WTC mean water tight compartment right. Than how come there are also act as ballast tank. Beginner in RCsub. Steven
CommentsI'm interested in purchasing a r/c submarine for operating in my area. Their appears to be alot of information on the web, however, I'm having some problems getting the straight skinny on what model to start with as a beginner and the cost for that first purchase. Any help in getting to a starting point would really be appreicated.
CommentsI really enjoyed your r/c version of the Hunley. I sell a 32 scale model of the Hunley at http://www.cottage-industries.com. I will soon have a real video of the real thing taken underwater at the wreck site! Your model is right on the nose as far as what she looks like. Congratulations!

CommentsI'm checking out your site for the first time today it seems to have quite an appealing look to it. I'm trying to build a sturgeon class sub that mimics the real workings of an actual submarine. If you know of anyone who is good with fiberglass or composites could you send me some info? thanks, rob young
CommentsGood site!

CommentsWell organized, great information for new people looking for info on getting started.
CommentsGreat site. Could use a little more pics though.
CommentsHave you given any more thought to completing your Basic R/C Submarining book?
CommentsGreat site! nice pictures.
CommentsWe know web page creation is expensive to build/maintain, we linked to your site through a R/C sub. kit page, we're not seeing any model sub. 'products' though. Anyway, no biggie, just wanted to sign your book. Clint
CommentsHave seen your models in many mags. over the years. You still produce many a fine model for someone starting out new to sub modeling. Just don't lose your touch. Tony De Luna

CommentsI was actually only looking for scale torpedoes for my PT boat. Now I am already calculating how to buy a sub! Online catalog & credit card payment would make things a lot easier. Namibia Africa
CommentsFirst, sorry for my terrible English. I'm discovering now the Internet R/C Uboats. I'm a submarine modeler in Spain, and here, this world is beginning grow up. I'm building one VIIC, U-551, 1:36 scale, full operational, with air compressed ballast tanks, torpedos, etc (I can send you photos). The worse is, that here, is too dificult to find devices for submarines, and all is neccesary built from zero. I'm trying now, to buy by mail the products i've seen in Internet and in the magazine RCBOAT MODELER. Here, there are a few meetings for rc boat modelers, and none for submarine modelers. I know a few people in Spain wich built submarines but in the last years, the interest is increasing, but the problem is not have enough products specific for submarines in the shops, and the prices are expensive because all is imported form US or Germany. Congratulations for your job!, and thank you, to the Subcommitee, and to others, for make in Internet a big way to meet us. I'll be very happy if you anwer me.
CommentsHi, Great site. I was wondering if you could help me out. I need to find out how to go about either buying or making some WTC's for my servos. Thanks.

CommentsYour web site is so cool and I'm not talking about the water that the submarines embrace once they're under the surface of the ocean.

CommentsGreat site, looking for rc sub kits.
CommentsGreetings from Canada! Great Page!! I've been planning for a long time to get into r/c subs, but I'm having trouble getting past the "day-dreaming" stage. I'm an electronics technician by trade, and I have a miniature pinhole camera and a uhf transmitter, and was thinking of putting them in the sub, so I could see where my sub was going.... provided the signal did not interfear with the r/c for the sub. I've loved the "seaview" sub from tv since I was a kid, and would really like to build a working r/c model of it.- I had a battery- operated toy sub when I was a kid, that I believe is called a "dynamic" type sub.- it was approx. 14 inches long, and you simply turned it on, and put it in the water, and it would go along the surface for a while, then dive, then come up again in roughly a figure eight, so that it came back to you... I wish I still had it! Anyway, it was a floating toy, that used the combination of forward velocity and the dive planes to dive, and I was wondering if that principle is used in r/c subs at all? - If so I shouldn't be able to lose the sub, nor would I have to mess with actual balast tanks?!?! I would appreciate any comments/advise you may have. Thanks Dave Burke
CommentsHi great Web site. Hope you don't mind I printed the articles section for later reference. I am building a Los angelos class attack sub from sratch (1\96 scale USS Albany) Tim Blackman Albany, N.Y.
CommentsJust looking through...have hulls, just retired from teaching ...will work and get something in the water!
Commentsdavid: Interesting, I'll be sure to give this address to my Submarine Veterans group Rick

CommentsHi, I'm new to R/C subs and was referred to you by Mike Dory. He suggested your Skipjack (I asked for a beginner's sub which could turn easily and was small enough to transport). However, I can't find it on your web site. Could you point me in the right direction? If you only do snail-mail catalogues, could you send me the Skipjack info via e-mail? (size, weight, price, what else would I need, etc.) Thanks, Bill Richter
CommentsHi Dave.Neat web site!Hope to see you at Groton.
CommentsJust checking out R/C subs. Wondering if I want to take it further.
CommentsGreat page, good links etc. I just was confused that the product section doesnt show a lot of products. I'm sure an online catalog would make better business since its easier for the customer than mailing you, and ordering the catalog, waiting for tha catalog(esp. if international) and then seeing that it wasnt worth ordering the catalogue(of course i dont know that, but who wants to take a risk and waiting time) sooo, pleaase add one Thanks Leif
CommentsI am sending a mail in stead of my friend who is living in South Korea. He is really interested in some cool R/C submarines. He asked me about product list and buying. Could you give me a hint? bye... yohan
CommentsYour page is great i like the pictures of the subs. Nicly layed out!! GOOD JOB
CommentsHey there Dave.. well, I remembered about the chat you had on Saturday nights, but being the dim-wit I am, forgot to remember that I have Central Time and not eastern.. grr.. So... lol, I missed it. Well, it was great to meet you at the regatta and I really appreciate all the help you gave me. Look forward to seeing you there again next year. Best Always, Tim Stolar
CommentsGreat site, it would be nice though to be able to view at least some of D & E Miniatures products with price information on this web.
CommentsI think your website is the best website about r/c submarines that i have seen.I think that it is great that you are shareing all your knowlledge on this great r/c hobbie.I'm new to this hobbie and this site has helped me understand how these r/c submarines work.

CommentsI like your site Merriman, keep up the great work!...Tommy
CommentsWhere do I send to get a catalogue of D&A Miniatures products?
CommentsKnow nothing about subs. Been R/C flying for years. Interested in getting started, where does one get started and how? Thank you, don r.
CommentsA very complete and interesting site. I have a 1977 32nd parallel type 209 sub, that they assembled and has never seen the water. After reading your web site and it's links my interest in that old sub is renewed. Keep up the good work. Shaver
CommentsGreat site will come back often. Mike
CommentsJust dropped by David, wanted to see what you make for future projects! ....Tommy
CommentsI have some comments about your" RC submarine"book. It is quite a good idea to illustrate RC submarines' electronic and mechanical installations for different types (eg, ohio, alkula, typhoon...) and sizes of submarines with photos.
CommentsThanks for the logon information. Your site is great. I am interested in underwater photography. Does one of your catalogues have such equipment? Mike
CommentsI am interested in RC Sailing, and stumbled across your WEB Site. As an X-Bubble head (Fast Boats) and a current Div-O for an Actual Submarine Repair Facility, I was naturally "hooked". As I read and learn more, you may hear more from me. Thank you for the efforts, great job! LT MIke Reno, USN
CommentsLooks Great. Cant wait to get into the hobby!
CommentsI am a former Diesel Boat Submariner (USS-BARBEL SS-580)
I enjoyed your WEB Page and am interested in purchasing the equipment needed to replicate the USS Barbel in a scale of about 3 feet long. (She originally was 219ft 2 inches long)
I want to use UPS Batteries and have operating antennas and Periscopes. How many channels would I need to do this (2 RADIOS?)
Please send me your comments
Most Respectfully,
Dane E. Musick ET1 SS USN (1997-1983) Field Engineer / Logistics Coordinator
CommentsI am a beginer at this, but I am looking for a fast boat. I would prefer gas powered. If I can just get more info concerning this, that would be great.
CommentsI love your submarines. Where do you get info about hull details and dimensions?
CommentsAn Excellent Web Site
CommentsGreat site but I think you should have more info on all your products, like the skipjack, wtc series etc. keep up the good work! Adam Dwyer
CommentsDon't suppose you know of anuy sub modelers in the Tampa/St. Pete/Orlando/Sarasota/WEst coast of Florida area?
CommentsYour site is very good, however, I would have been more prone to remain and roam about a bit if your catalog was available for on-line perusal.
CommentsFacinating, I'm interested in building a R/C Sub. Perhaps you could offer some advice, as to how to get started, what is a good kit for a beginner?
CommentsI am very intereseted in submarines myself. Your site seems to be pretty good. Sorry I don't have any constructive comments. I will return sometime soon and have a better look.
CommentsI found your site through psubs.org. I'm building a one man sub-The K-250 designed by George Kittredge. Also mess with R/C airplanes and would like kit info on R/C subs. regards, Pierre

CommentsHey Dave!! Thanks for the great Site. I have been a begining Sub Modeler for about two years. However, Have been in the R/C Realm for about 15 years. I am Now 23. I am currently working my second attemp, a 96inch Model of The Typhoon Class Red October. My hope is to Equip this Model with working Torpedoes, Being a Boomer, Gotta Have the Missiles too... Need to get ahold Of Thor Design, Copeland Models, And if there is a way to get some detailed info about your products as well, Would you kindly share e-mail addresses with me. For some reason Your E-mail link can't be created at work here. In my first attempt at a Los Angeles class I was able to designed a non propel, fully contained Ballast system for wet hulls that, using 2 12vlt Lead acid batterys in tandem, will allow this monster to tour 2-3 hours at a time.

Commentsgreat site, I have long entertained the thought of homebuilding a attack class 688 but have lacked the time. I am an avid reader of WW2 sub stories and have been fortunate enough to have been to two launchings at Groton. As a 30 year seasoned electronics technician I am curious as to the R/C units you use underwater. Anything you can send me for basic understand would be appreciated. I personally had thought that sonic controls would be needed to activate or deactivate servos. hope to hear some feedback.
CommentsHello! I have been interested in R/C Subs for many years, and am glade to see a web site deadicated to the hobby!!!! I still hope to build one some day when money permites it. Good luck and happy Subbing!! Keith Domrose
CommentsHow nice to meet yesterday and chat at the lake. I enjoyed watching you enjoy your labor of love as well as 8 to 10 others who arrived after you. There was an amazing (to me) array of models to watch -- Titantic (8') to Richard's RowBoat. What sort of time table could I depend on to bring my son (age 10) to the lake so that he can enjoy watching as well? Is Sunday afternoon pretty much a routine ? I forgot how to reach your son, Chris, but do desire to speak with him regarding my company and his company. There may well be some mutually advantageous opportunity we could discover. Could you please return mail his url and/or his email address? Thanking you once again for the demo yesterday, I remain . . . CommentsGreat site but be better with more info abou U.S fleet subs.
CommentsI am interested in a R/C sub. I spoke with someone at FX Modelers and they directed me to you. For their 6' model of the Seawolf they reccomended your WTC 3 1/2 model. The hull they offer has an 8" diameter. I was also interested in the Albacore you show on your site.
CommentsDave, accessing your site from the Ilikai Waikiki, Oahu. Have a 5 day conference at Pwarl, and the barracks were full, so they stuck me in the Marriott at Waikiki beach. Did I mention full per diem? Gee, sometimes I juat hate my job (grin). Hope all is well with you and Ellie! Sending you a postcard and have a package for you when I get back to San Diego... Wish you were here... No, really! Take care, Mark CommentsHi Dave: Great site. Greeting from an old friend. Its been a long time and the models you gave me still precious to my heart. Question: A few days ago I saw with a diesel type, twin screw R/C sub. It measured about 30 to 36 inches and seemed to handle well. Is your company producing this sub or do you know who make it. My greetings to Ely. Regards, Ralph Hernandez
CommentsGreat site....ordered a catalog can't wait to get it
CommentsDave, Very informative site, just ordered a catalog. Please show more pic's please! As a former Boomer sailor (originally schooled at Damneck by the way), I am very impressed with the accuracy and functional capabilities of your models/products. I am interested in whether this can extend into the realm of correct and functional mast and antenna arrangements(i.e. scale, type & location)?
CommentsI AM LOOKING FOR A CATALOGUE TO PURCHASE A U-BOAT,ANY SUGGESTIONS? THANKS,JIM................

CommentsGREAT SITE! I have been trying to construct a remote controlled sub from ZERO my self. As you would think i didnt have much success.Mainly because there arent any accessories here in Cyprus. I used R/C car servos and remotes and made a flooding system my self ( it "works" like a syringe) Anyway, after discovering this great site, i may resume in my work! GOOD JOB!
CommentsRecently I have create a submarine on my owe using a 1.5 litre bottle. The thing worked for a while then it started leaking. The problem is that I am form singapore and I cannot get any of the kits you have. How can I find a manufacturer and ask then to send it to me??
Commentslooks good. If you want a laugh! I was experimenting at the kitchen sink full of water a plastic lemonade bottle weighted horizontally with a pipe to a 12v pump.after a few 'test' dives I made about half a dozen holes along top and started pumping water in I was distracted and left, on my return the pump was forcing jets of waterthrough the sink straight onto kitchen ceiling
CommentsWanted - good quality part constructed or new radio controlled V11C U-boat 1/40th scale. Sheerline model or Shaffer or similar. I come from a diorrama model background so I don’t want too much DIY hull making as such. Any information or contact details will be much appreciated!

CommentsI enjoyed looking through your site and will visit again. Bruce CommentsWell done, David. Thanks for sharing your sub information. I teach a technology/robotics grade 12 course of which one of the students' main design problem is to design and construct a submersible following a given set of parameters. The students get so turned on that they can't wait to get to class. It's a great motivator but the big payoff is that they learn to think for themselves; something that most schools don't do enough of!

CommentsI have been planning a build up of a Seawolf class submarine. I plan on using it in my senior project and as an extra credit possibility in my physics class. I will probably be using this web site among others to get my information to build this project. If any one has ever built a submarine from scratch, knows of any good model submarine sites, or has built one, I would love to hear from you and ask some questios I may have.

CommentsThanks for the great site, such imfo is in very short supply way down here at the bottom of the South Pasific. We are a club of 25 members, and due to the very mild winters, we sail all year round, in fresh water,we do not get snow ,ice etc. Most of our members would not have seen that cold stuff anyway. We sail surfice craft, although several of us do have plans for subs, but how the hell to get started is the big problem for us. Our plans are from the English pub.MAP.;and most of these are just line drawings, or in the case of their M9 U Boat are at least 35 yrs old. So please keep the site up dated, as there are a bunch of Kiwi boaties who look to you for ideas, inspiration, and now know that ,yea, it can be done.
